My name is Joanna Breitschwerdt and I have been teaching for 20 years and at San Gabriel Mission for the past 10 years. My passion and educational background is in early childhood education, and I started the TK program here at Mission 8 years ago. I strongly believe in a Catholic Education. I, as did my three children, attended Catholic schools from Kindergarten through High School.I absolutely love my job and look forward to seeing my kids everyday. I am so blessed to be able to work with little learners and watch them explore, play, learn, share, create and imagine each and every day. I believe that children need to feel safe and happy at school. They need to know that we learn from mistakes and that learning is fun. In my humble opinion, there is no better job on earth than watching a child beam with pride the first time he or she writes a letter or cuts a piece of paper or figures out a puzzle. I am blessed to be the TK teacher at San Gabriel Mission Elementary School and it is my privilege to be your child’s first teacher.
