Hello! My name is Mimi Capra and I am the Fourth Grade Homeroom Teacher and 3rd-5th Humanities Teacher at San Gabriel Mission Elementary School.
This is my fifth year as the 4th grade Homeroom Teacher and my second year as the 3rd-5th grades Humanities Teacher. I began volunteering at Mission in the TK classroom and soon moved on to become the Resource teacher for First through Eighth grade. I also spent my time at Mission as a substitute for many grade levels and was the full time P.E. teacher. I am lucky to have been a part of this wonderful community and family since February 2016. I have always felt that being a teacher was my calling and I am excited and ready for this new school year.
I have been a student of Catholic Education for many years. I attended Holy Angels for Elementary School and Alverno Heights Academy for High School. I completed my Bachelor's Degree at California State University, Fullerton and majored in Liberal Studies Elementary Education.
I am passionate about creating a positive classroom environment that not only challenges students academically, but provides a place to grow socially. I encourage students to think outside the box and motivate them to ask questions whenever they are curious about homework, a test or the general wonders of life. As an educator, it is my goal to equip my students with skills that will apply beyond the classroom.
I am looking forward to an uplifting and a productive school year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns you may have. The best way to contact me is via email at [email protected] Thank you!
